"I have taught a number of different courses, ranging from general chemistry to senior and graduate level courses, developed and team-taught several new courses, and have been involved in curriculum development. Outside of work I enjoy visiting with family, reading nonfiction (primarily historical and biographical works), working on genealogy, bowling, and being in the great outdoors (camping and hiking)."

"There are several pieces of advice I would give to students. If you are a student interested in a scientific career, you should obtain as much career-related professional experience, whether in the form of an internship, undergraduate research, student employment as a lab assistant, or job shadowing, as you can while attending Southeast. These experiences are of special interest to many employers who hire science graduates."

"I have looked at the world as an Analytical Chemist for some time. As an undergraduate student I had the opportunity to work at the National Animal Disease lab studying toxins in feeds. My next position with one of the largest healthcare companies... While in the Hospital Products Division, I helped bring more than 10 hospital products to market, including the world's leading anesthesia gas, Sevoflurane, used in 95% of all major surgeries... My hobbies include reading (novels mainly), following soccer, camping and kayaking. I have two children, Tim and Clare, with my wonderful wife Pat."

"Fun Fact: I co-authored a paper with one of the few electrochemists to appear on the cover of Time magazine."
